Rust stains CAN be removed from tiles
Rust can occur when metal items come into contact with water and your tiles. This can happen whether you have porcelain, ceramic, stone, or concrete. Absorbency isn’t the issue with rust creation, so sealers will not stop rust from forming.
Metal chairs, outdoor heaters, outdoor bins, and iron filings are all common causes of rust, and once it has taken a grip on the surface it can be very difficult to remove. For this reason it is important that if you notice rust starting to form, you should immediately remove whatever is causing the rust, and contact Slique to remove the stain.
Rust is very unsightly across a tiled surface, and because a form of acid is needed to remove the rust a lot of care is needed to remove without damaging the tiles. While there are many rust removal products available through hardware stores used on the wrong material these can create serious problems.
Slique can use either an acidic rust remover or a non-acidic rust remover depending on your surface. In most cases rust marks can be safely removed without damaging the stone or tile and the surface left in pristine condition. However occasionally rust marks can be deep enough that they cannot be fully removed.
